Depht of field - Phtographers - Peter Lindbergh

Having neglected the subject 'depht of field' so badly when writing about Man Ray with Peter Lindbergh I will have only examples of his vast work that show shallow depht of field.

Peter Lindbergh is a German photographer and best known for working and enhancing the Supermodels of the late 80s and early 90s. With Anna Wintour he created the new look of american VOGUE as we know it after she took over the magazine. Working for VOGUE (italian, english, french, german and american VOGUE), Vanity Fair, Rolling Stone, The New Yorker, and Haarper's Bazaar Lindbergh is amongst the comercially most successfull Photographers worldwide. Despite being famous for his photographs he started as a painter. His ideal as a painter was Vincent van Gogh. After travelling to Arles and North Africa for two years as van Gogh did he started his photographic career after he returned and worked as photography assistant for Hans Lux in Düsseldorf. He then moved to Paris where his international career started and the rest is history. You can tell by his pictures that he claims German black and white expressionist movies being his biggest influence. I love his work, the combination of portrait and fashion photogrphy and his way of telling a story in his pictures.
